School Day

The school is situated on a 4 hectare bushclad coastal property that provides vast teaching and learning opportunities. The majority of the day is outdoors, in all seasons and weather.

There is a small stream running through the property, with bridges, a mud kitchen for play, building and construction zone, firepit, adventure playground and of course our forest, beach and estuary for in situ environmental learning.

We have a large community garden, school bike track, sports field, pet pigs, chickens and numerous areas for classes to nestle amongst the trees for reading or project work with their teacher. The Schoolhouse is an extension of the outdoor classroom with multiple indoor spaces, covered decking a large central shared atelier (art studio), kitchen and office.

Child participating in routine at the forest school

In 2026 we have 64 students on the roll in four different classes of 16. Students are in mixed age classes with our younger learners: Junior Primary Years 1-3 together and Middle Primary Years 4-6 together.

Mixed age classes provide a socially and emotionally healthy environment that mirrors real life interactions. In these classes children learn to collaborate with others of different ages, similar to how they engage in family and community settings. This promotes emotional intelligence, as students develop empathy, patience, and leadership skills.

Parents can be assured that mixed age classes are a strength, not a setback. Skilled teachers differentiate learning so that every child is challenged, supported, and extended at the right level for them.
